Special Economic Zone - Central Government de-notifies an area of 12.942 hectares, thereby making the total area of the Special Economic Zone as 56.841 hectares at State Industries Promotion Corporation of Tamil Nadu Limited, Industrial Growth Centre, Perundurai Village, Erode District, in the State of Tamil Nadu - S.O. 1647(E) - Special Economic Zone

MINISTRY OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY (Department of Commerce) (SEZ SECTION) NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 5th April, 2023 S.O. 1647(E). Whereas, M/s. State Industries Promotion Corporation of Tamil Nadu Limited, had proposed under section 3 of the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005 (28 of 2005) , (hereinafter referred to as the said Act) to set up a Special Economic Zone for Engineering Sector at State Industries Promotion Corporation of Tamil Nadu Limited, Industrial Growth Centre, Perundurai Village, Erode District, in the State of Tamil Nadu; AND, WHEREAS, the Central Government, in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 4 of the said Act read with rule 8 of the Special Economic Zones Rules 2006 , had notified an area of 105.445 hectares and de-notified two areas of 26.407 hectares and 9.255 hectares at the above Special Economic Zone vide Ministry of Commerce and Industry Notification Numbers S.O. 916(E) dated 23rd April, 2008, S.O. 6475(E) dated 26th December, 2018 , and S.O. 267 (E) dated 17th January, 2022 , respectively; AND, WHEREAS, M/s. State Industries Promotion Corporation of Tamil Nadu Limited has now proposed for de-notification of 12.942 hectares from the above Special Economic Zone; AND, WHEREAS, the State Government of Tamil Nadu has given its approval to the proposal vide letter No. 4597/MIE.2/2022-1 dated 06th June, 2022; AND, WHEREAS, the Development Commissioner, MEPZ Special Economic Zone has recommended the proposal for de-notification of an area of 12.942 hectares of the above the Special Economic Zone. Further, after the de-notification, the land will be utilized for DTA purpose; AND, WHEREAS, the Central Government is satisfied that the requirements under sub-section (8) of section 3 of the said Act and other related requirements are fulfilled; NOW, THEREFORE, in exercise of the powers conferred by second proviso to sub-section (1) of section 4 of the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005 and in pursuance of rule 8 of the Special Economic Zones Rules, 2006 , the Central Government hereby de-notifies an area of 12.942 hectares of the above Special Economic Zone, thereby making the total area of the Special Economic Zone as 56.841 hectares.
