RT 12 Form - Modification by 3rd Amendment of 1997 to Excise Rules

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 37 of the Central Excise Act, 1944 (1 of 1944), the Central Government hereby makes the following rules further to amend the Central Excise Rules, 1944, (hereinafter referred to as the said rules), namely :-

1. (I) These rules may be called the Central Excise (Third Amendment) Rules, 1997.

 (II) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.

2. In Appendix-I to the said rules, under the heading "FORMS", under sub-heading "(II) Specimen forms", in "FORM R.T. 12", for the portion beginning with the words and figure

"Description of goods as appearing in the invoice and tariff heading/sub-heading
(1)"	and ending with the words,	"Duty paid/amount paid
letters and figure
		PLA MODVAT
		(9)"

the following shall be substituted, namely :-

"Description of goods as appearing in the invoice and tariff heading/sub-heading	Unit	Opening Balance	during the month/ period Quantity manufactured

Quantity received from outside under any provision	Total Quantity	Quantity cleared on payment of duty	Quantity of duty free clearances
