C. Notification No. 34/94-C.E. (N.T.) Dated 12-7-1994 In exercise of the powers conferred by clause (b) of section 2 of the Central Excises and Salt Act, 1944 (1 of 1944) read with rule 4 of the Central Excise Rules, 1944, the Central Board of Excise and Customs hereby invests the Assistant Collector, Madras V Division with the powers of a Collector of Central Excise, to be exercised by him throughout the territory of India, for the purpose of investigation and adjudication of such cases, as may, from time to time, be assigned to him by the said Central Board of Excise and Customs.
