Export of Excisable Goods to Nepal or Bhutan - Amendment to Notification No. 150/81-C.E.

In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-rule (2) of rule 13 of the Central Excise Rules, 1944, the Central Government, being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby makes the following further amendments in the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) No. 150/81-Central Excise, dated the 29th July, 1981, namely :-

In the said notification -

(i)  in the opening paragraph, for the word "Nepal", the words "Nepal or Bhutan" shall be substituted;

(ii) in conditions (2) and (3), for the word "Nepal", wherever it occurs, the words "Nepal or Bhutan, as the case may be",

shall be substituted;

(iii) in Appendix-I, for the word "Nepal" wherever it occurs, the words "Nepal/Bhutan" shall be substituted;

(iv) in Appendix-II,

(a) in the heading, in procedures (v) and (vi), sub-procedure (d) of procedure (viii) and procedures (ix) and (xv), for the word "Nepal", wherever it occurs, the words "Nepal or Bhutan, as the case may be," shall be substituted;

(b) in sub-procedure (c) of procedure (viii), for the words "Nepalese territory", the words "Nepalese or Bhutanese territory" shall be substituted;

(c) in sub-procedure (d) of procedure (viii) and procedures (ix) and (x), for the words "Nepalese Customs Officer", wherever they occur, the words "Nepalese Customs Officer or Bhutanese Customs Officer, as the case may be", shall be substituted;

(d) in sub-procedure (d) of procedure (viii), for the words "Nepalese Land Customs", the words "Nepalese Land Customs or Bhutanese Land Customs, as the case may be", shall be substituted;

(e) in sub-procedure (d) of procedure (viii) and procedure (ix), for the words "His Majesty's Government of Nepal", the words "His Majesty's Government of Nepal or the Government of the Kingdom of Bhutan, as the case may be", shall be substituted.
