Induction furnace - Hot re-rolled products of non-alloy steel - Duty exemption Notification No. 50/97-C.E. Dated 1-8-1997 In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 5A of the Central Excise Act, 1944 (1 of 1944), the Central Government, being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby exempts the goods of the description specified in column (3) of the Table below and falling within the sub-heading Nos. of the Schedule to the Central Excise Tariff Act, 1985 (5 of 1986) specified in the corresponding entry in column (2) of the said Table, from so much of the duty of excise leviable thereon which is specified in the said Schedule as is in excess of the amount calculated at the rate specified in the corresponding entry in column (4) the said Table : Provided that the exemption contained in this notification shall apply only to the goods manufactured or produced prior to the 1st day of August, 1997 and cleared on or after that date from an induction furnace unit, or as the case may be, a hot re-rolling mill.
