Wool tops and slivers Notification No. 48/86-C.E. Dated 10-2-1986 . In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (3) of section 3 of the Additional Duties of Excise (Textiles and Textile Articles) Act, 1978 (40 of 1978), the Central Government hereby exempts wool tops and carded gilled slivers containing more than fifty per cent by weight of wool calculated on the total fibre content, cotton yarn, man-made fibres and yarns, falling under Heading Nos. 51.02, 52.03, 54.02; 54.03, 54.04, 55.01, 55.02 and 55.05, and sub-heading Nos. 5204.21, 5204.29, 5504.21, 5504.22, 5504.29, 5504.90, 5506.21 and 5506.29, of the Schedule to the Central Excise Tariff Act, 1985 (5 of 1986), from so much of the duty of excise leviable thereon under the first mentioned Act, as is in excess of the amount calculated at the rate of 13.64 per cent of the duty of excise leviable under the Central Excises and Salt Act, 1944 (1 of 1944). 2. This notification shall come into force on the 28th day of February, 1986.
