Appointment of Commissioner of Customs (Appeals) and their jurisdiction - Amendment to Notification No. 29/97-Cus. (N.T.) Notification No. 18/99-Cus. (N.T.) Dated 3-3-1999 In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section (4) of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), the Central Government hereby makes the following further amendments in the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue), No. 29/97-Customs (N.T.), dated the 7th July, 1997, namely :- In the Table to the said notification, — (a) against serial No. 8, for the entries in column (3), the following shall be substituted, namely :- "Commissioners of Customs, Calcutta, Calcutta Airport, West Bengal, Shillong, Commissioners of Central Excise, Calcutta-I, Calcutta-II, Calcutta-III, Calcutta-IV, Bolpur, Bhubaneswar-I, Bhubaneswar-II and Shillong"; (b) for serial No. 9, and the entries relating thereto, the following shall be substituted, namely :- (1) (2) (3) "9. Commissioner of Customs (Appeals), Patna. Commissioner of Customs, Patna. Commissioners of Central Excise, Patna and Jameshedpur"; (c) against serial No. 14, for the entries in column (3), the following shall be substituted, namely :- "Commissioner of Customs, Lucknow. Commissioners of Central Excise, Allahabad,    Kanpur-I, Kanpur-II, Meerut-I and Meerut-II".
