Baggage Rules, 1994 - Amended Notification No. 18/95-Cus. (N.T.) Dated 16-3-1995 In exercise of the powers conferred by section 79 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), the Central Government hereby makes the following rules further to amend the Baggage Rules, 1994, namely :- 1. (1) These rules may be called the Baggage (Amendment) Rules, 1995. (2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette. 2. In the Baggage Rules, 1994, - (1) in chapter II, - (i) in rule 5, - (A) in clause (i), (a) in sub-clause (a), for the words "two thousand rupees", the words "three thousand rupees" shall be substituted; (b) in sub-clause (b), for the words "four thousand rupees", the words "six thousand rupees" shall be substituted; (B) in clause (ii), for the words "rupees four thousand", the words "six thousand rupees" shall be substituted; (C) in proviso, (a) in clause (b), for the words "four hundred rupees", the words "six hundred rupees" shall be substituted; (b) in clause (d), for the words "two thousand rupees", the words "three thousand rupees" shall be substituted; (ii) in rule 6, for the words "four thousand and five hundred rupees", the words "six thousand rupees" shall be substituted; (iii) in rule 7, - (a) in the opening portion for the words "seven thousand and five hundred rupees", the words "ten thousand rupees" shall be substituted; (b) in the proviso, for the words "fifteen thousand rupees", the words "twenty thousand rupees" shall be substituted; (2) in chapter III, - (a) in rule 12, for the words "six hundred rupees", the words "seven hundred and fifty rupees" shall be substituted; (b) in rule 13, for the words "six hundred rupees", the words "seven hundred and fifty rupees" shall be substituted.
