Gold including ornaments imported by passengers - Limit extended to 10 kg - Amendment to Notification No. 171/94-Cus. Notification No. 1/97-Cus. Dated 1-1-1997 In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), the Central Government, being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby makes the following amendment in the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) No. 171/94-Customs, dated the 30th September, 1994, namely :- In the said notification, in the opening paragraph, for the words "five kilograms", the words "ten kilograms" shall be substituted.
