Amendments to Notification Nos. 83/87-Cus., 89/89-Cus. 172/92-Cus. - [Chapters 38, 28 G.E. No. 193B] Notification No. 120/93-Cus. Dated 4-5-1993 In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), the Central Government, being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby directs that each of the notifications of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) specified in the column (2) of the Table hereto annexed shall be amended in the manner specified in the corresponding entry in column (3) of the said Table. TABLE S. No. Notification No. date Amendment (1) (2) (3) 1. No. 83/87-Customs, dated the 1st March, 1987. In the said notification, for the portion beginning with the words "or semi-conductor devices, from-" and ending with the words "subject to the following conditions, namely :- ", the following shall be substituted, namely :- "or semi-conductor devices, from so much of the duty of customs leviable thereon which is specified in the said First Schedule, as is in excess of the amount calculated at the rate of thirty-five per cent ad valorem , subject to the following conditions, namely:-" 2. No. 89/89-Customs, dated the 1st March, 1989. In the Table annexed to the said notification, Sl. No. 9 and the entries relating thereto shall be omitted. 3. No. 172/92-Customs, dated 30th April, 1992. In the said notification, in the condition (i), for the the words "a Joint Director in the Department of Electronics of the Government of India", the words "a Joint Director in the Department of Electronics of the Government of India or a Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Non-conventional Energy Sources" shall be substituted.
