Amends Notification No. 49/90-Cus. to provide effective duty on specified plastic resins and articles Notification No. 32/93-Cus. Dated 28-2-1993 In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), the Central Government, being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby makes the following further amendment in the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) No. 49/90-Customs, dated the 20th March, 1990, namely: - In the said notification, for the Table, the following Table shall be sub stituted, namely: "TABLE S. No. Heading No. Description of goods Rate (1) (2) (3) (4) 1. 39.01 (i) Polyethylene and copolymers of ethylene, having a specific gravity of less than 0.94 other than LDPE based sheathing compound or insulation compound. 65% ad valorem (ii) Polyethylene and copolymers of Ethylene, having a specific gravity of 0.94 or more. 65% ad valorem 2. 39.02 Polypropylene and copolymers of propylene. 75% ad valorem 3. 39.03 Polystyrene and copolymers of styrene other than acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (ABS) copoly mers and styrene-acrylonitrile (SAN) copolymers. 55% ad valorem 4. 39.04 Polyvinyl chloride and copolymers of vinyl chloride. 45% ad valorem 5. 39.11 Polysulphones. 65% ad valorem 6. 39.20 Polyvinyldene difluoride sheets. 60% ad valorem".
