Amendments to six notifications Notification No. 41/89-Cus. Dated 1-3-1989 In exercise of the powers the conferred by sub-section (1) of section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), the Central Government, being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby directs that each of the notifications of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue), specified in column (2) of the Table hereto annexed shall be ammended or further amended, as the case may be, in the manner specified in the corresponding entry in column (3) of the said Table. THE TABLE Sl. No. Notification No. and date Amendment (1) (2) (3) 1. 181/80-Customs, dated the 5th September, 1980 In the said notification, for the words "from the whole of the duty of Customs leviable thereon which is specified in the said First Schedule", the words and figure "from so much of that portion of duty of customs leviable, thereon which is specified in the said First Schedule as is in excess of 5 per cent ad valorem " shall be substituted. 2. 219/84-Customs, dated the 10th August, 1984. In the said notification, for the figures and words "10 per cent ad valorem ", the figures and words "15 per cent ad valorem " shall be substituted. 3. 63/85-Customs, dated the 17th March, 1985. In the said notification, for clause (a), the following clause shall be substituted, namely :- "(a) so much of that portion of duty of customs leviable thereon which is specified in the said First Schedule, as is in excess of 5 per cent ad valorem ; and" 4. 346/87-Customs, dated the 29th October, 1987. In the said notification, for the figures and words "30 per cent ad valorem ", the figures and words "35 per cent ad valorem " shall be substituted. 5. 1/88-Customs, dated the 1st January, 1988. In the said notification,- (i) in the opening paragraph, for figures and words "25 per cent ad valorem" the figures and words "30 per cent ad valorem " shall be substituted; and (ii) in paragraph 2, for the figures and words "31st day of March, 1989", the figures and words "31st day of March, 1990" shall be substituted. 6. 244/88-Customs, dated the 8th September, 1988. In the said notification, for the figures and words "35 per cent ad valorem ", the figures and words "40 per cent ad valorem " shall be substituted.
