Amendments to four notifications Notification No. 258/88-Cus. Dated 21-9-1988 In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), the Central Government, being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby directs that each of the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue), specified in column (2) of the Table hereto annexed shall be amended or further amended, as the case may be, in the manner specified in the corresponding entry in column (3) of the said Table. TABLE Sl. No. Notification No. and date Amendment (1) (2) (3) 1. 172/77-Customs, dated the 8th August, 1977. In the Table annexed to the said notification, - (i) against Sl. No. 2, in column (2), for the figures and word "84.73 or 98.06", the word and figures "or 84.73" shall be substituted; (ii) against Sl. No. 3, in column (2), the figures and word "85.03 or 98.06" shall be omitted; and (iii) against Sl. No. 4, in column (2), the word and figures "or 98.06" shall be omitted. 2. 60/87-Customs, dated the 1st March, 1987. In the Table annexed to the said notification, - (i) against Sl. No. 10, in column (3), for the words "and above", where it occurs for the last time, the words "and above; or parts of aforesaid goods" shall be substituted; (ii) against Sl. No. 11, - (a) for the entry under column (2), the entry "85.36 or 85.38" shall be substituted; (b) in column (3), for the words "and above", where it occurs for the last time, the words "and above; or parts of aforesaid goods" shall be substituted; (iii) against Sl. No. 12, - (a) for the entry under column (2), the entry "8537.10 or 85.38" shall be substituted; (b) in column (3), for the words "or above" where it occurs for the last time, the words "and above; or parts of aforesaid goods" shall be substituted; 3. 69/87-Customs, dated the 1st March, 1987. In the said notification, - (i) in the Table, Sl. No. 26 and the entry relating thereto shall be omitted; (ii) in the proviso, clause (iii) to clause (xiv) shall be omitted. 4. 124/87-Customs, dated the 1st March, 1987. In the Table annexed to the said notification, Sl. No. 1 and the entry relating thereto shall be omitted.
