Amendment to Notification No. 513/86-Cus. [G.E. No. 43] Notification No. 123/88-Cus. Dated 30-3-1988 In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), the Central Government, being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby makes the following amendments in the notification of the Government of India, in the Ministry of Finance, Department of Revenue, No. 513/86-Customs, dated the 30th December, 1986, namely :- In the said notification, - (i) in the opening paragraph for the portion beginning with the words "so much of the duty of customs leviable thereon" and ending with the words "at the rate of 25 per cent ad valorem" the words "the whole of the duty of customs leviable thereon which is specified in the first Schedule to the Customs Tariff Act, 1975 (51 of 1975)" shall be substituted. (ii) in paragraph 2 for the figures, letters and words "31st day of March, 1988" the figures, letters and words "30th day of September, 1988" shall be substituted. 2. The amendment in (i) above shall come into force on 1st of April, 1988.
