Amendment to Notification Nos. 215/80, 276/82 and 30/83-Cus., so as to prescribe effective rate of basic custom duty on certain man-made fibres Notification No. 83/88-Cus. Dated 1-3-1988 In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), the Central Government, being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby directs that each of the notifications of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) specified in column (2) of the Table hereto annexed shall be further amended in the manner indicated in the corresponding entry in column (3) of the said Table. In the said notification, in the opening paragraph, for the figures "60", the figures "50" shall be substituted; 2. 276/82-Customs dated the 14th December, 1982. In the said notification, in the opening paragraph, for the figures "60", the figures "50" shall be substituted; and 3. 38/83-Customs dated the 1st March, 1983. In the Table annexed to the said notification, - (i) against Sl. No. 1, for the entry in column (3), the entry "135% ad valorem plus Rs. 7 per kilogram" shall be substituted; and (ii) against Sl. No. 2, for the entry in column (3), the entry "100% plus Rs. 10 per kilogram" shall be substituted.
