Amendment to Notification No. 347/86 - 072/88 - Customs -Tariff

Amendment to Notification No. 347/86 Notification No. 72/88-Cus. Dated 1-3-1988 In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), the Central Government, being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby makes the following further amendments in the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) No. 347/86-Customs, dated the 16th June, 1986, namely :- In the said notification, - (a) in the opening paragraph, for the portion beginning with "the said Table, from -" and ending with "of the said Customs Tariff Act,", the words and figures "the said Table, from so much of that portion of the duty of customs leviable thereon which is specified in the said First Schedule, as is in excess of the amount calculated at the rate of 45 per cent ad valorem " shall be substituted; (b) in the Table, - (i) against Sl. No. 11, in column (2), for the figures "73" the figures and words "72 or 73" shall be substituted; (ii) against Sl. No. 14, in column (3), after the figures and letters "0.2 mm", the words, figures and letters "to 0.3 mm" shall be inserted; (iii) against Sl. No. 24, in column (4), for the words "Printed Components", the words "Printed Components, Coils and Inductors" shall be instituted; (iv) against Sl. No. 29, (A) in column (3), for the word "Paper", the words "Paper or Paper Board" shall be substituted; (B) in column (4), for the words "Semi-conductor Devices", the, words "Semi-conductor Devices, Inductors" shall be substituted; (v) against Sl. No. 31, in column (3), after item (viii), following items shall be inserted, namely :- "(ix) Conveying trays. (x) TP Furnace and trays (xi) Saggers"; (vi) Sl. No. 34 and entries relating thereto shall be omitted; (vii) after Sl. No. 44 and entries relating thereto, the following Sl.
