Amendment to Notification No. 346/86 - 071/88 - Customs -Tariff

Amendment to Notification No. 346/86 Notification No. 71/88-Cus. Dated 1-3-1988 In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), the Central Government, being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby makes the following further amendments in the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) No. 346/86-Customs, dated the 16th June, 1986, namely :- In the said notification, - (a) in the opening paragraph, for the portion beginning with the words "the said Table, from-" and ending with the words "of the said Customs Tariff Act,", the words and figures "the said Table, from so much of that portion of the duty of customs leviable thereon which is specified in the said First Schedule, as is in excess of the amount calculated at the rate of 45 per cent ad valorem." shall be substituted; (b) in the Table, - (i) against Sl. No. 16, in column (3), after item (iii) and the entry relating thereto, the following item and entry shall be inserted, namely :- "(iv) Flat diaphragms"; (ii) against Sl. No. 28, in column (3), in item (iii), for the words "silver alloy" the words "silver or silver alloy" shall be substituted; (iii) against Sl. No. 30, in column (4), after the word "transformers", the words "or deflection components" shall be inserted; (iv) against Sl. No. 33, in column (3), after item (ii) and entry relating thereto, the following item and entry shall be inserted, namely :- "(iii) filter elements"; (v) against Sl. No. 36, in column (4), after the word "Magnetrons" the word "or electron gun parts" shall be inserted.
