Amendment to Notification No. 345/86 - 070/88 - Customs -Tariff

Amendment to Notification No. 345/86 Notification No. 70/88-Cus. Dated 1-3-1988 In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), the Central Government, being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby makes the following further amendments in the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) No. 345/86-Customs, dated the 16th June, 1986, namely :- In the said notification, - (a) in the opening paragraph, for the portion beginning with the words "the said Table, from -" and ending with the words "of the said Customs Tariff Act,", the words and figures "the said Table, from so much of that portion of the duty of customs leviable thereon which is specified in the said First Schedule, as is in excess of the amount calculated at the rate of 30 per cent ad valorem ," shall be substituted; (b) in the Table, - (i) against Sl. No. 15, in column (4), for the words "Magnetic Heads", the words "magnetic heads, cassette heads" shall be substituted; (ii) against Sl. No. 20, for the entry in column (3), the entry "Chromium di-oxide" shall be substituted; (iii) against Sl. No. 33, in column (4), for the words "parts, of cassettes", the words "parts of cassettes, T.V. tuner" shall be substituted; (iv) against, Sl. No. 55, in column (4), for the words "and switches", the words "switches, RF/IF coils and transformer" shall be substituted; (v) against Sl. No. 75, for the entry in, column (4), the entry "Capacitors and RF/IF coils" shall be substituted; (vi) against Sl. No. 86, - (A) for the entry in column (2), the entry "28, 38, 39, 7 5 or 80" shall be substituted; (B) in column (3), the words and symbols, "The following plating/etching chemicals" shall be omitted. (vii) against Sl. No. 89, in column (4), for the entry "potentiometers", the entry, "potentiometers, deflection components" shall be substituted; (viii) against Sl. No. 90, for the entry in column (3), the entry "Cellulose acetate/cellulose tri-acetate foil or film in roll/strip sheet" shall be substituted; (ix) against Sl. No. 92, for the entry in column (4), the entry "Deflection components, coils and transformers" shall be substituted; (x) against Sl. No. 101, in column (3), for the entry at item No. (ii) the entry "Hydroxy Methyl Propyl Cellulose" shall be substituted; (xi) after Sl. No. 106 and the entries relating thereto, the following Sl. Nos. and entries shall inserted, namely :- (1) (2) (3) (4) "107 28, 29 Tetrahydrofuran Video magnetic tapes 108 73 Copper clad tin coated steel wire dia 0.4 mm to 1.2 mm Lead tabs for electrolytic capacitors."
