Amendment to Notification Nos. 48/84, 125/86, 397/86 and 58/87 - 049/88 - Customs -Tariff

Amendment to Notification Nos. 48/84, 125/86, 397/86 and 58/87 Notification No. 49/88-Cus. Dated 1-3-1988 In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), the Central Government, being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby directs that each of the notifications of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue), specified in column (2) of the Table hereto annexed shall be amended or further amended, as the case may be, in the manner specified in the corresponding entry in column (3) of the said Table. TABLE Sl. No. Notification No. and date Amendment (1) (2) (3) 1. 48/84-Customs, dated the 1st March, 1984 In the said notification, for the figures and words "35 per cent ad valorem" the figures and words "25 per cent ad valorem ", shall be substituted; 2. 125/86-Customs, dated the 17th February, 1986. In the said notification, - (i) in the opening portion, - (a) for the word and figures "or 39" the words and figures "or heading Nos. 39.20, 39.21 or 39.23" shall be substituted; (b) for the words "when imported into India", the words "when imported into India for use in processing/packaging of food articles" shall be substituted; (c) in clause (a) for the figures, symbols and words "10% ad valorem" the figures and words "35 per cent ad valorem" shall be substituted; (ii) in the Table, (a) Sl. Nos. 30, 32 and 34 and the entries relating thereto shall be omitted; (b) for Sl. No. 23 and the entry relating thereto, the following Sl. No. and entry shall be substituted, namely :- "23. Aseptic packaging machinery which may also perform one or more of the following processes in addition to packaging :- Pre-sterilising, pasteurising, comprising, forming, filling, sealing, coding, marking. (c) for Sl. No. 37 and the entry relating thereto, following Sl. No. and entry shall be substituted, namely :- "37. Aseptic packaging materials, bags and drums." 3. 397/86-Customs, dated the 29th July, 1986. In the said notification, for the figures, symbols and words "35% ad valorem" , the figures and words "25 per cent ad valorem" shall be substituted. 4. 58/87-Customs, dated the 1st March, 1987. In the said notification, for the words "sixty per cent ad valorem" , the figures and words "25 per cent ad valorem" shall be substituted.
