Amendment to Notification No. 227/76-Cus., and No. 88/87-Cus., dated 1-3-87 Notification No. 46/88-Cus. Dated 1-3-1988 In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), the Central Government, being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby directs that each of the notifications of the Government of India in the Department of Revenue and Banking or in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) as the case may be, specified in column (2) of the Table hereto annexed, shall be amended or further amended in the manner specified in the corresponding entry in column (3) of the said Table. TABLE S. No. Notification No. and date Amendment (1) (2) (3) 1. No. 227/76-Customs, dated the 2nd August, 1976. In the Table annexed to the said notification, against S. No. 5, in column (3) for the entry, the following entry shall be substituted, namely :- "20% ad valorem" . 2. No. 88/87-Customs, dated the 1st March, 1987. In the Table annexed to the said notification, - (i) against S. No. 07, in column (3), for the entry; the following entry shall be substituted, namely :- "Rs. 2000/- per tonne"; (ii) S. No. 10 shall be renumbered as S. No. 11 thereof, and before the S. No. as so renumbered, the following S. No. and entries shall be inserted namely :- (1) (2) (3) 10 Goods covered by heading No. 39.19 Rs. 100 per kilogram (iii) for S. No. 04 and the entries relating thereto, the following S. No. and entries shall be substituted, namely :- (1) (2) (3) 04 Polyvinyl chloride and copolymers of vinyl chloride falling within heading No. 39.04, - (a) of paste grade or battery grade Rs. 4000 per tonne (b) Others Rs. 2,000 per tonne
