Amendment to Notification 54/87-Cus., so as to reduce the basic customs duty on polyurethane films of specified thickness to 60% ad valorem Notification No. 45/88-Cus. Dated 1-3-1988 In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), the Central Government, being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby makes the following amendments in the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) No. 54/87-Customs, dated the 1st March, 1987, namely :- In the said notification, in the opening paragraph, for the words and figures "from so much of the additional duty which is leviable thereon under section 3 of the Customs Tariff Act, as is in excess of the 40% ad valorem", the words, brackets, letters and figures "from - (a) so much of that portion of the duty of customs leviable thereon which is specified in the said First Schedule, as is in excess of the amount calculated at the rate of 60 per cent ad valorem; and (b) so much of the additional duty of customs, which is leviable thereon under section 3 of the said Customs Tariff Act, as is in excess of 40 per cent ad valorem" shall be substituted.
