Amendment to Notification No. 136/86-Cus. incorporating some textual changes, and increasing basic customs duties on 2 specified chemicals falling within Chapter 28 Notification No. 44/88-Cus. Dated 1-3-1988 In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), the Central Government, being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby makes the following further amendments in the notification of the Government of India, Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue) No. 136/86-Customs, dated the 17th February, 1986, namely :- In the Table annexed to the said notification, - (a) after Sl. No. 13AA and the entries relating thereto, the following Sl. No. and entries shall be inserted, namely :- (1) (2) (3) (4) 13B 28.31 Sodium formaldehyde-Sulphoxylate 110% ad valorem (b) after Sl. No. 14 and the entries relating thereto, the following Sl. No. and entries shall be inserted, namely :- (1) (2) (3) (4) 14A 28.37 Sodium ferrocyanide 100% ad valorem (c) after Sl. No. 53A and the entries relating thereto, the following Sl. No. and entries shall be inserted, namely :- (1) (2) (3) (4) 53AA 29 The following chemicals, namely :- 80% + Rs. 25 per Kg. TIOC (Crude Erythromycin)/Erythromycin thiocyanate and 6-Amino Penicillinic Acid (6-APA) (d) against Sl. No. 53D, in column (3), for the entry, the following entry shall be substituted, namely :- "The following chemicals, namely :- Sorbitol and Formic Acid" (e) after Sl. No. 53D and the entries relating thereto, the following Sl. No. and entries shall be inserted, namely :- (1) (2) (3) (4) 53E 29 The following chemicals, namely :- 100% ad valorem (i) ether derivatives of ethylene glycol (ii) ether derivatives of diethylene glycol (iii) ether derivatives of triethylene glycol (iv) ether derivatives of propylene glycol (v) acetates of (i) to (iv) above.
