Exemption to mechanical parts for peripherals Notification No. 75/87-Cus. Dated 1-3-1987 In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), the Central Government, being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby makes the following amendment in the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance, Department of Revenue, No. 349/86-Customs, dated the 16th June, 1986, namely :- In the said notification, — (i) in clause (a), for the figures and words "5 per cent ad valorem ", the figures and words "35 per cent ad valorem " shall be substituted; (ii) in the Table, after Sl. No. (xv) and the entries relating thereto, the following Sl. Nos. and entries shall be inserted, namely :- S. No. Description of goods "(xvi) Optical printers including laser printers (xvii) Optical/laser disc drives (xviii) Encoders and readers sorters for MICR applications (xix) Computer output - Micro film/Mirco Fische (xx) Laser scanners (xxi) Optical character/mark/page readers".
