Amends 3 existing Notifications Notification No. 248/86-Cus. Dated 15-4-1986 In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), read with sub-clause (4) of clause 49 of the Finance Bill, 1986, which clause has, by virtue of the declaration made in the said Finance Bill under the Provisional Collection of Taxes Act, 1931 (16 of 1931), the force of law, the Central Government, being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby directs that each of the notifications of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue), specified in column (2) of the Table hereto annexed, shall be amended, in the manner specified in the corresponding entry in column (3) of the said Table. TABLE (1) (2) (3) 1. 187-Customs, dated the 1st March, 1986. In the said notification, — (a) after Sl. No. 21 and the entries relating thereto, the following Sl. No. and entries shall be inserted, namely :— (1) (2) (3) "21A. 44 (1) Wood in the rough; (2) Wood roughly squared and half squared, but not further manufactured; (3) Wood sawn length-wise sliced or peeled, but not further prepared." (b) Sl. Nos. 35, 36, 37, 38 and 41 and the entries relating thereto shall be omitted; (c) against Sl. No. 42, in column (3), for the words "Electric hearing aids", the following words and figures shall be substituted, namely :— "Goods falling under heading No. 90.21". 2. 188-Customs, dated the 1st March, 1986. In the Schedule to the said notification, — (a) Sl. No. 217 and the entries relating thereto shall be omitted. (b) after Sl. No. 263 and the entry relating thereto, the following Sl. No. and entry shall be inserted, namely — "263A. No. 156-Customs, dated the 1st March,1986.". 3. 190-Customs, dated the 1st March, 1986. In the Schedule to the said notification,— (a) after Sl. No. 50 and the entry relating thereto, the following Sl. No. and entry shall be inserted, namely :— "50A. No. 77-Customs, dated the 17th March, 1985."; (b) after Sl. No. 61 and the entry relating thereto, the following Sl. No. and entry shall be inserted, namely :— "61A. No. 369-Customs, dated the 24th December, 1985.".
