Specified testing machineries/instruments Notification No. 161/86-Cus. Dated 1-3-1986 In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), the Central Government, being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby exempts the goods falling within Chapter 84 or Chapter 90 of the First Schedule to the Customs Tariff Act, 1975 (51 of 1975), and specified in the Table below when imported into India from so much of that portion of the duty of customs leviable thereon which is specified in the said First Schedule, as is in excess of the amount calculated at the rate of 10% ad valorem. TABLE 1. Bevel Gear Tester. 2. Gear Tooth Spacing Tester. 3. Lead Screws Measuring Machine. 4. Bearing inspection equipment, namely :— (a) Radial Clearance Checking Machine. (b) Axial Clearance Checking Machine. 5. Hob Checking or Testing Machine. 6. Roundness Testing Machine.
