Iron and steel - Goods notified for purposes of credit of duty under Modvat - Amendment to Notification No. 58/97-C.E. Notification No. 2/98-C.E. Dated 10-3-1998 In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-rule (6) of rule 57A of the Central Excise Rules, 1944, the Central Government, being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby makes the following amendment in the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue), No. 58/97-Central Excise, dated the 30th August, 1997, namely :- In the said notification, in the Explanation, for the words, "by cheque drawn on his own bank account", the words "by cheque drawn on his own bank account or by bank draft or by bankers' cheque" shall be substituted.
