Merged States (Taxation Concessions) Order, 1949 : Declaration of Pudukkottai Palace at Tiruchirapalli as official residence of ex-ruler Notification Number: 0607(E) Dated 01/08/1980 Whereas the Government of Tamil Nadu acquired on 14-5-76, the New Palace at Pudukkottai which was declared as official residence of the ex-ruler of Pudukkottai for the purpose of paragraph 13 of the Merged States (Taxation Concessions) Order, 1949, and the ex-ruler of Pudukkottai made a request to the Central Government for declaring Pudukkottai Palace at Tiruchirapalli as his official residence for the purposes of the said paragraph. And whereas the said ruler is entitled to have the said Pudukkottai Palace at Tiruchirapalli declared as aforesaid : Now, therefore, in pursuance of the provisions of item (iv) of paragraph 13 of the Merged States (Taxation Concessions) Order, 1949, as saved by the provisions of section 6 of the General Clauses Act, 1897 (10 of 1897), and all other powers enabling it in this behalf, the Central Government hereby declares the said Pudukkottai Palace at Tiruchirapalli from the date of acquisition of New Palace at Pudukkottai by the Government of Tamil Nadu the official residence of the said ruler for all purposes.
