Rescinded vide Notification No. 34/2012- Service Tax, Dated 20/06/2012 Exemption to air travel agents excess than commission received from airlines [Notification No. 22/97-S.T., dated 26-6-1997 ] In exercise of the powers conferred by section 93 of the Finance Act, 1994 (32 of 1994), the Central Government, being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby exempts from the levy of service tax, that portion of the value of taxable service referred to in sub-clause (1) of clause (41) of section 65 of the said Act which is in excess of the commission received by the air travel agent from the airline for booking of passage for travel by air. 2. This notification shall come into force on the 1st day of July, 1997.
