Seeks to amend notifications no. 67/2006-Cus, 68/2006-Cus (both dated 30.06.2006) and 85/2011-Cus dated 06.09.2011 so as to include Afghanistan as one of the beneficiary countries under SAFTA. - 96 /2011-Customs - Customs -Tariff

(E).- In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 25 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962), the Central Government, on being satisfied that it is necessary in the public interest so to do, hereby directs that each of the notifications of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue), specified in column (2) of the Table hereto annexed shall be amended in the manner specified in the corresponding entry in column (3) of the said Table, namely:- Table Serial No. Notification Number and date Amendments (1) (2) (3) 1 67/2006-Customs, dated 30 th June, 2006 [G.S.R.393 (E), dated the 30 th June, 2006] In the said notification, in Appendix II, after S.No. 4 and the entry relating thereto, the following S.No and entries shall be inserted, namely:- S.No. Country 5. Islamic Republic of Afghanistan 2. 68/2006-Customs, dated 30 th June, 2006 [G.S.R.394 (E), dated the 30 th June, 2006] In the said notification, in Appendix II, after S.No. 4 and the entry relating thereto, the following S.No and entries shall be inserted, namely:- S.No. Country 5. Islamic Republic of Afghanistan 3 85/2011-Customs, dated 6 th September, 2011 [G.S.R.662 (E), dated the 6 th September, 2011] In the said notification, in Appendix, after S.No. 4 and the entry relating thereto, the following S.No and entries shall be inserted, namely:- S.No. Country 5. (1) The principal notification No. 67/2006-Customs , dated the 30 th June, 2006 was published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part II, Section 3, Sub-section (i), vide number G.S.R.393 (E), dated the 30th June, 2006 and was last amended by notification No.133/2010-Customs , dated the 31 st December, 2010 which was published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part II, Section 3, Sub-section (i), vide number G.S.R 1035 (E), dated the 31 st December, 2010. (2) The principal notification No. 68/2006-Customs , dated the 30th June, 2006 was published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part II, Section 3, Sub-section (i), vide number G.S.R.394 (E), dated the 30th June, 2006 and was last amended by notification No. 134/2010-Customs , dated the 31 st December, 2010 which was published in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part II, Section 3, Sub-section (i), vide number G.S.R 1036 (E), dated the 31 st December, 2010.
