Central Excise Rules — Fifteenth Amendment of 1999

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 37 of the Central Excise Act, 1944 (1 of 1944), the Central Government hereby makes the following rules further to amend the Central Excise Rules, 1944, namely :-

1. (1) These rules may be called the Central Excise (15th Amendment) Rules, 1999.

(2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.

2.In the Central Excise Rules, 1944, in rule 173Q, in sub-rule (1), in clause (bbb), for the words, "credit of the duty of excise", the words, figures and brackets, "credit of the duty of excise or the additional duty under section 3 of the Customs Tariff Act, 1975 (51 of 1975)" shall be substituted.
