Items of Import against SIL in the previous policy classified as Restricted (unless they are made free) except Import Gold Silver by Authorised Agencies TO BE PUBLISHED IN THE GAZETTE OF INDIA EXTRAORDINARY PART-II, SECTION-3, SUB SECTION (ii) GOVERNMENT OF INDIA MINISTRY OF COMMERCE INDUSTRY DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE NOTIFICATION NO.7 (RE-2001)/1997-2002 NEW DELHI : 31 st March, 2001 S.O (E) - In exercise of powers conferred under section 5 of the Foreign Trade (Development and Regulation) Act, 1992 read with paragraph 1.3 and 4.1 of the Export and Import Policy, 1997-2002, the Central Government hereby makes the following amendments in the ITC(HS) Classifications of Export and Import Items , 1997-2002 published on 31 st March, 1997 (RE-98) as amended from time to time, namely - "1. Import of all such items which were earlier allowed against surrender of SIL and not included in Notification No. 2(RE-2001) dated 31.03.2001, shall be restricted. However, import of gold and silver by nominated and authorized agencies by the RBI / Ministry of Finance shall continue to be free. 2. The following shall be added at the end of Appendix V to Schedule 1 of ITC(HS) Classifications of Export and Import Items, 1997-2002: Sl.
