Additional transitional arrangement for import of vanaspati including bakery shortening and margarine under the Indo-Sri Lanka Free Trade Agreement - 32 (RE-2006) / 2004-2009 - Foreign Trade PolicyExtract Additional transitional arrangement for import of vanaspati including bakery shortening and margarine under the Indo-Sri Lanka Free Trade Agreement NOTIFICATION NO. 32/2006, DT. 11/09/2006 S.O. (E) In exercise of powers conferred by Section 5 of the Foreign Trade (Development and Regulation) Act, 1992 read with paragraph 1.3 and 2.1 of Foreign Trade Policy, 2004-09, as amended from time to time, the Central Government hereby notifies the additional transitional arrangement for import of vanaspati including bakery shortening and margarine under the Indo-Sri Lanka Free Trade Agreement: i) "Import of vanaspati including bakery shortening and margarine made under Indo-Sri Lanka Free Trade Agreement shall be allowed, irrespective of provisions contained in Public Notice No.17 (RE-2006)/2004-09 dated 2.6.2006, in all cases where the importer produces a certificate from one of the Government Authorities in Sri Lanka i.e. the customs authorities, the excise authorities or the Board of Investment, Government of Sri Lanka, clearly stating that the particular consignment had left the factory premises in Sri Lanka on/or before 2nd June, 2006. The certificate should also mention that the consignment was meant for export to India. ii) The above transitional arrangement will be in addition to the transitional arrangements notified at paragraph 1.5 of Foreign Trade Policy and notified vide Notification No.22 (RE-2006)/2004-09 dated 24.7.2006. iii) The imports of vanaspati including bakery shortening and margarine under Indo Sri Lanka Free Trade Agreement made since 1.4.2006 shall be adjusted against overall quantitative limit arrived between the two Governments for export of these items from Sri Lanka to India under Indo-Sri Lanka Free Trade Agreement and guided by the modalities to be fixed in this regard".
