Jurisdictional Powers Changed 

Notification No. 34/99-CE(N.T.)   Dated 11/5/1999

In exercise of the powers conferred by clause (b) of section 2 of the Central Excise Act, 1944 (1 of 1944), and rule 4 of the Central Excise Rules, 1944, the Central board of Excise and Customs hereby directs that references to the authorities specified in column of the Table below in the notifications or orders issued clause (b) of the said section 2 or rule 4 of the said rules shall, unless the context otherwise requires, be construed as references to the authorities specified in the corresponding entry in column 3 of the said Table.
