Indirect Tax Collections Increase by 45.9 Per Cent During April – August 2010 |

Indirect tax collections from Customs, Central Excise and Service Tax at all India level has increased more than 45% during April-August, 2010 compared to its corresponding period, i.e. April- August, 2009. Total Revenue Collections were Rs.124170 crore during this period i.e. April-August 2010. Revenue collections from Customs during this period was Rs.51866 crore, i.e. 66.5% more than the collections during corresponding period in previous year. Revenue collections from Central Excise have increased to Rs.49672 croe during April-August, 2010 i.e. 41.7% more over previous year during April-August, 2009. Similarly, revenue collections from Service Tax during April-August 2010 wadrs Rs.22632 crore i.e. 19.8% more than the revenue collections during the corresponding period (April-August, 2009) in previous year |
