Recovery of Penalties Imposed by CCI |

The Competition Commission of India (CCI) has imposed penalty on 322 entities as follows: -
The Commission has made the CCI (Manner of Recovery of Monetary Penalty) Regulations, 2011 regulating the manner in which penalties imposed by it shall be recovered. The Competition Appellate Tribunal/Courts have dismissed/stayed the recovery of a sum of ₹ 1,21,78,01,01,298/- as penalty and a sum of ₹ 2,16,52,33,351/- is not yet due/not been paid as penalty so far. CCI is taking action as per law for recovery of penalties. This was stated by Shri Arun Jaitley, Minister of Corporate Affairs in a written reply to a question in the Rajya Sabha today. |
