Transparency in Government Procurement System |

In order to improve transparency in Government Procurement system, Government of India has established Central Public Procurement Portal (CPPP). Instructions have been issued that it will be mandatory for all Ministries/Departments of the Central Government, their attached and subordinate offices, Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs) and autonomous/statutory bodies to publish their tender enquiries, corrigenda thereon and details of bid awards on the CPP Portal. Further, all Ministries/Departments of the Central Government, their attached and subordinate offices have been asked to commence e-procurement in respect of all procurement with estimated value of ₹ 5 lakhs w.e.f. 01.04.2015 and ₹ 2 lakhs w.e.f. 01.04.2016. This improved transparency in the Government procurement system will make them more efficient and effective. This was stated by Shri Jayant Sinha, Minister of State in Ministry of Finance in written reply to a question in the Lok Sabha today. |
