Intimation letter needed for using computer genarated invoice?

  • Contents

Dear experts,

Intimation letter needed for using computer generated invoice?

From 1st April 2015 we wish to use computer generated invoice instead of continuous stationery (pre-printed Sr. No). Now we will use A/4 size invoice where invoice no will be generated at the time of printing invoice.

Are we need to intimate the excise department before using such stationery?

No, you are not liable to submit any intimation for the same. But your software must comply excise law like no duplication of Invoice, Edit in Invoice after delivery of goods. In case of audit or survey you have to prove that your software complies the excise rules for computer generated invoice.

Sir,

agreed no need for any intimation. but this being the first time, it is advisable to intimate the range office and keep the acknowledgement copy for record purpose.

If in future such information is called by the department under rule 22 of central excise rule 2002, then you may provide details with acknowledged copy referred above.
