Import Samples for Personal use

  • Contents

One of my student had imported a sample of chickpeas 1KG from Ukraine, he had imported against his name (Personal Import without IEC). Now the FedEx courier company said that we don't clear food products from Indian custom (Ahmadabad Airport) & we can't send to your doorstep "you kindly appoint CHA for it". CHA took the work but ultimately he told that I can't clear it as it is not against IEC.

Now according to me any food products Import in India needs FASSAI certification but recently DHL had delivered dates & Almond at door step to one of my student without any registration.

Every CHA told that we can't clear it as it is not against IEC, it's personal Import.

The cargo is still at Ahmadabad Airport but FedEx, CHA, failed to clear it.

Can you suggest the way to get 1KG of samples clear from Ahmadabad Airport Custom ??

Thanks

Sir,

You have to file bill of entry id cargo transferred to cargo mode.

FSSAI NOC is not required for food imported by person for personal use subject to value limit

and the same has to be declared in the bill of entry, Further importer shall submit a declaration

as per schedule 5 of FSSAI import rules

Regarding IEC, No IEC is required for person importing goods for his personal use. He can use

the dummy IEC No. " 0100000053" as exempted category.

thanks
