if we paid Gst on trandport exp on RCM basis. will we have to issue self invoice for transpoert exp to claim RCM gst credit.

Sir,

Section 31 (3) (g) of CGST Act, 2017 stipulates that "a registered person who is liable to pay tax under sub-section (3) or sub-section (4) (RCM) of section 9 shall issue a payment voucher at the time of making payment to the supplier. The details to be shown in payment voucher is given rule 52 of CGST Rules, 2017.

RCM-Self Invoice on receipt of goods / services and Payment Voucher at the time of making payment, both documents should be prepared under Section 31(3) which reads as under:

Section 31 (3) (f) of the CGST Act : A registered person who is liable to pay tax under sub-section (3) or sub-section (4) of section 9 shall issue an invoice in respect of goods or services or both received by him from the supplier who is not registered on the date of receipt of goods or services or both;

Section 31 (3) (g) of the CGST Act: A registered person who is liable to pay tax under sub-section (3) or sub-section (4) of section 9 shall issue a payment voucher at the time of making payment to the supplier.
