Deduction for mediclaim premium u/s 80D

  • Contents

Dear Experts,

I have a joint mediclaim policy for my parents. My father is a senior citizen and mother is not senior citizen. So which deduction to be claimed? 25000 or 50000? (50000 is for senior citizens u/s 80D)

Thanks in advance!!

According to my knowledge, since one of them is a senior citizen, Rs. 50000 can be claimed as deduction u/s 80D. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Thank you
