Eligibility criteria revised for launching Options on Commodity Futures by Stock Exchanges. Average daily turnover now INR 100 crore.

SEBI issued a circular on eligibility criteria for launching Options with Commodity Futures as underlying by Stock Exchanges with commodity derivative segments. The average daily turnover required for agricultural and agri-processed commodities is reduced to INR 100 crore from INR 200 crore. Stock Exchanges must implement this for Options on Futures contracts introduced after June 1, 2024. Amendments to bye-laws, rules, and regulations are necessary. The circular is u/s 11(1) of the SEBI Act 1992 to protect investor interests and regulate the securities market.
