Standard Operating Procedure for handling Stock Exchange outage & extension of trading hours in Commodity Derivatives segment

SEBI issued a circular on Standard Operating Procedure for handling Stock Exchange outage and extending trading hours in Commodity Derivatives segment. The circular mandates stock exchanges to implement necessary changes by July 01, 2024. In case of outage, affected exchanges must inform stakeholders promptly and update on the situation every 45 minutes. Trading hours extension depends on timely intimation to market participants. If not communicated by specified times, no extension occurs. The circular, u/s 11(1) of SEBI Act, aims to safeguard investor interests and regulate securities market. The procedure includes detailed timelines for resuming trading based on outage timings.
