July 2, 2024

The circular issued by SEBI on charges levied by Market Infrastructure Institutions (MIIs) emphasizes the need for transparent and fair access to all market participants. MIIs must ensure charges to end clients are accurate and not misleading. The existing slab-wise charge structure may lead to discrepancies and hinder equal access. MIIs must redesign charge structures to be uniform for all members, with charges directly passed on to end clients. Implementation is required by October 01, 2024, to protect investor interests and regulate the securities market.
