Review of customs duty exemptions - Extension of conditional exemption rates of BCD: The BCD exemption for specified goods covered under various serial numbers of notification no. 50/2017-Customs is being extended until 31st March 2026, unless specified otherwise. These goods include planting materials, algal oil, lactose, seafood processing items, gold ores, bunker fuels, naphtha, LPG, electrical energy from SEZs, goods for semiconductor and solar cell manufacturing, pharmaceutical raw materials, chemicals, raw materials for paper and newsprint, plastic processing machinery components, aircraft and ship components, medical equipment, and others. The exemption for certain essential items like medicines supplied by UNICEF, drugs and materials, goods for press and journalists, ocean-going vessel repairs, lifesaving medical equipment, archaeological artefacts, and raw materials for sports goods is extended until 31st March 2029.
