India's exports up 6% to $602.64 bn in Apr-Dec 2024, trade deficit widens.

India's cumulative exports (merchandise & services) during April-December 2024 grew by 6.03% to USD 602.64 Billion compared to USD 568.36 Billion in April-December 2023. Merchandise exports increased by 1.6% to USD 321.71 Billion, while non-petroleum exports rose by 7.05% to USD 272.70 Billion. Major drivers included electronic goods, engineering goods, rice, ready-made garments, and cotton yarn/fabrics. Services exports grew by an estimated 11.61% to USD 280.94 Billion. Overall trade deficit widened to USD 79.50 Billion from USD 69.67 Billion in the corresponding period of the previous year.
