Exporters Must Now Specify Service Trade Mode in New Electronic Bank Realization Certificate Format

April 22, 2025

Circulars     DGFT

The DGFT introduces a new 'Mode of Export of Services' field in the eBRC format for services exports, effective May 01, 2025. The modification aligns with WTO GATS guidelines, requiring exporters to specify one of four service trade modes during electronic bank realization certificate certification: Cross-Border Supply, Consumption Abroad, Commercial Presence, or Presence of Natural Persons. This reform enhances data granularity and accuracy in services export reporting, enabling more precise tracking of international service transactions and supporting India's commitment to standardized international trade documentation.
