2024 (12) TMI 1550 - SC - CustomsRelease of consignment of the writ petitioner comprising inter alia frames and slides of handguns which had been seized by the respondents - it was held by High Court that The ex post facto issuance of the aforesaid Form X amounts to a clear admission on the part of the appellants that as long as an importer held an import license for frames and slides the importer was not required to apply for a separate license under Rule 88 (2) nor did it require a permission under Rule 57 (4) of the 2016 Rules. HELD THAT - There are no reason to interfere with the impugned order passed by the High Court. SLP dismissed.
In the Supreme Court of India, Justices J.B. Pardiwala and R. Mahadevan presided over the case. Representing the petitioner were Mr. Tushar Mehta, Solicitor General, and a team of advocates. The respondent was represented by Senior Advocate Mr. Abhishek Manu Singhvi and others. The Court, after hearing the counsel and reviewing the records, decided not to interfere with the High Court's order. The Court stated, "Delay condoned," and dismissed the Special Leave Petition. It noted that the "Question of law, if any, is kept open." All pending applications were disposed of.
