Rule 7 - Seniority - Indian Revenue Service (Customs and Central Excise ) Group ‘A’ Rules, 2016

7. Seniority. - (1) The relative seniority of the members of the Service on commencement of the rules shall be the relative seniority in their respective grades as already determined before the date of commencement of these rules: Provided that if the seniority of any member of the Service had not been determined before the commencement of these rules, it shall be determined by the Controlling Authority in accordance with the general orders or instructions on seniority issued by the Central Government from time to time. (2) The seniority of persons appointed to various grades of the Service on and from the date of commencement of these rules shall be determined in accordance with the general orders or instructions on seniority issued by the Central Government from time to time.
