10. Dematerialization.- A recognised stock exchange which has issued equity shares or whose equity shares are offered for sale in the manner provided in these regulations shall (a) enter into an agreement with the depositories for dematerialization of the equity shares proposed to be issued or proposed to be sold; and (b) it shall give an option to the subscribers or transferees to receive the share certificate or hold the shares in dematerialized form with a depository.
