Need for furnishing expeditiously, complete and accurate date relating to Parliament Questions. - Income Tax - 587/CBDTExtract INSTRUCTION NO. 587/CBDT Dated : August 20, 1973 Assurances given to Parliament are normally required to be implemented within a period of three months. In case more time is required, the Department of Parliamentary Affairs is to be approached seeking extension of time. 2. It has come to the notice of the Committee on Government Assurances that implementation of the assurance given in reply to a particular question was inordinately delayed. A Member of the Board had to appear before the Committee and explain the reasons for the delay. Such occasions cause considerable and avoidable embarrassment to the Board. 3. Chairman has stressed the need for furnishing expeditiously, complete and accurate date relating to Parliament Questions. 4. It is, therefore, imperative that all Commissioners of Income-tax pay adequate attention to this work. The Board desire that Commissioners of Income-tax should personally ensure that the information supplied by the officers under their charge is complete and accurate in all respects. This would reduce the necessity for the Board to obtain further clarification or more information in which process the implementation of the assurance gets delayed. Inaccuracy in the supply of information will be viewed with displeasure by the Board. This may be brought to the notice of all the officers working in your charge.
